1. Download Voice Messages on Instagram App
If you own an Android device from Samsung, LG, or OnePlus, you already get a built-in screen recorder, which also records audio. Alternatively, if your phone doesn’t have a built-in screen recorder, you can download third-party AZ Screen Recorder from the Google Play Store. For this instance, I’ll show you the steps on Google Pixel 3 running stock Android 11. f First, open your screen capture settings, and enable recording system sound. This will disable the external mic and record all system sounds.
Now, simply log in or open your Instagram account and toggle to the direct message. Now, before hitting play, open the screen recorder and start recording the screen. Once you’re done listening to the entire audio, stop the recording. That’s it, you can now play it on your local storage anytime and share it with friends. There are chances that you might want to convert the video file into audio. Don’t worry, you can convert audio instantly as well. Simply download a video to audio converter app and convert the file to mp3.
2. Download Voice Messages on Instagram on Web
I’m sure most of you use Instagram for mobile. However, if you’re someone like me, who takes advantage of scheduling and posting from PC, this method is likely to help you download and listen to your voice messages on Instagram. Unlike the first method, you don’t have to record anything, nor is there any hassle to convert it to mp3. For this method, we’re going to use a browser extension, Instagram Voice Downloader which allows downloading the voice messages with a single click. Let’s see how to do it. Firstly, open the Chrome browser and look for Instagram Voice Downloader on Google. You can also look for the extension in the Chrome Web Store.
To add the extention to your browser, tap on the Add to Chrome button on the top-right side of the extension page. Wait for a while and let the extension download and install automatically.
Once it’s successfully installed, you’ll be able to find the icon on the top right cornet of the browser. You can also right click to open the extention window and uninstall it, in case you do not need it anymore.
Now, Open Instagram web and feed in your details to log-in. Once, you’re logged in, toggle to the chat you want to download voice messages from. You’ll notice a black download sign below each recording. Tap on it, to download any specific voice message. You can do this for any chat on Instagram. Note that you might have to play the recording once, or refresh the page if don’t get the download option int he chatbox.
After you tap on the download button. The audio will open in a new tab. Select the three vertical-dot sign and click on download. That’s it. You can now find the file in the download prompt at the bottom or downloads in your local hard drive. Get Instagram Voice Downloader on Chrome
Closing Remarks
So these were two easy methods on mobile and PC that’ll help you save voice messages on Instagram. I frankly wait a week or so, if not very urgent, and then download all the voice messages at once using my PC. This way I can skip converting them to mp3 every time on the phone. But of course, you can choose whichever method is more convenient to you. As of now, we have to settle with these workarounds, but I hope Instagram introduces a native option for this. Until then, hope you have a great time talking. Also Read Best Apps for Instagram Hashtags for iOS & Android
